  • I would not recommend Homewood for a beginner due to the lack of terrain that is easily accessible from the lifts. For an intermediate, the resort is great. It is less crowded and offers some great opportunities to maximize your ski time. The biggest downside is that most of their lifts have not been upgraded and are pretty slow, and there aren't that many lifts on the mountain. The mid-mountain "lodge" is really a very large tent that provides good shelter and packaged food (they grill outside on sunny days). Bathrooms are outside which requires a bit of a hike down an incline and up some stairs. It's a family resort with reasonable prices and friendly people, so don't expect 5 star accommodations, but what they have in place is adequate if you aren't a snob.
  • Man, I love this place. A hidden gem in the world of Tahoe ski resorts. Views, that in my opinion, equal any other resort around Tahoe. The place had an old ski resort feel about it. Great place!
  • Loved it. This is where locals come to ski/board. Great variety of trails for all skill levels. Easy and plenty parking. It is usually not crowded here unlike larger resorts. Family friendly. Food court is so-so, but if you want something little more upscale, there is a great restaurant just across the street. Rental place can be crowded in the morning, so come early. We bought tickets online - there is a separate line to pick up tickets which makes it quick. Will come back for more skiing fun!
  • Gorgeous Resort that nobody knows about. Huge mountain and no crowds. And the price hasn't run up (as much) as some other places. Get to the top and the view will not be beat. Check it out.
  • We had an awesome good time here! Lots of fun. ALL the staff were extremely warm and friendly, very accommodating and helpful. That goes for the folks in the ticket office, ski rental shop, sporting goods store, ski school, lift operators, kitchen and bar. Special mention for Elizabeth, Andy Tania, Justin, Jim, Marty and Stephanie I love that it felt like old school family style skiing, not the impersonal cattle drive you'll find at the big resorts. For a small resort your PEOPLE are the winning combination.
