  • As part of a day trip today visiting wineries around Seneca Lake, one of the highlights was our stop at Shaw Vineyard. The first good indication was a sign banning limos or buses in the parking lot. N...  more »

  • Fantastic wines! Much more complex and interestingly than other vineyards. Great service from both wine tasting staff and the owner who stepped into tasting room.
  • I was somewhat disappointed with the quality of their Pinots and Cab Francs even those that were highly rated here and elsewhere by "wine critics". I mean I understand the prices that they are asking based on those reviews but I would have expected minerality intensity similar to those of Burgundian Pinots given the prices being asked but I got none of that. What was even more disappointing to find out that they sell their grapes to other wineries that seem to produce better quality IMHO of wines then I received from them. I might have to visit again some time because it may have been a fluke but I can't say it will be done any time soon.
  • You wouldn't let me try your chardonnay! I unfortunately bought it anyway. Worst $40 I ever spent. It taste like grape juice. I will never buy your wine again and I don't recommend it to anyone.
  • Server was Wonderful... Knowledge of how your wine maker makes the wine is Key when tasting and then purchasing wine. Now for the wines, absolutely hands down the best not one of the best but the best. Winemaker Steve Shaw hits it out of the park.
  • At Shaw the wine clearly comes first. Fantastic things are happening here. From bottle-aged-but-still-fresh Sauv blanc; to truly delectable, complex, and ageworthy Bordeaux-esque reds; to unique orange wines with months of skin exposure, Steve Shaw seems to be nothing short of a Finger Lakes winemaking genius. The facility is reminiscent of stepping into an artist's studio, with for-sale art on easels around the periphery, wooden slat racks for wine storage, a case packing area clearly visible, and a bare-bones tasting bar. This was an experience second to none for us wine geeks, and we highly recommend visiting Shaw Vineyards.
