  • Great course. Lots of dog legs, and bunkers. The staff was great. I would recommend bringing some bug spray as the mosquitoes were crazy on a few holes. Had a blast, and hole 6 is beautiful, looking out over the ocean.
  • What an enjoyable course! #6 faces the ocean, two of the par threes are over huge ponds. And the back nine is just scenic. The staff was pleasant and attentive.
  • Greens were true & quick. Many Fairways were narrow ... Many many sand traps placed just about perfectly to catch every miss-hit. But a very good course
  • Went as a foursome with other local players who belong to a private club on the island. We all remarked how nicely the course is designed and what great condition the fairways and greens are in. It's clearly one of the islands most scenic courses and #6 is as pretty as a picture. Fairways are wide but well bunkered, while most of the greens are heavily bunkered and some have deep bunkers - so bring your sand game. Only complaint is that a couple of bunkers had liners exposed and some had footprints not raked out by prior players... but for a public course Oyster Reef ranks right up there and is not to be missed. The newly renovated clubhouse is very attractive and has an extensive beer selection. Get the crab hush puppies - their fantastic and go absolutely great with a cold draft.
  • I played the course on October 7th, 2015 just days after heavy rains hit SC. The course and greens were in great shape. I don't know if the starter was having a bad day, but he was rude and inconsiderate to us as we were getting ready to head to the tee box as well as at the turn. I know they were probably heavily booked, but you should not treat your patrons this way.
