The market is its own community, and it provides a good way for visitors to get to know the locals. • Hilo farmers market is a perfect market to get some local fruits and veggies, shop for gifts and local made items, clothes, snacks and house hold goods. The market has a little bit of everything and live music plus numerous stores and eateries surrounding the area so your walk can turn into going to the market then lunch and shopping to walking all around Hilo town square area. The weather is best looked at before you go as it can rain often in Hilo and other days be beautiful and full of sun. Parking is not bad just watch the parking signs for days and hours in certain areas you can park. Prices might seem a bit high on some items but no one said Hawaii was cheap right. Enjoy the market and the local people they love to talk story. Enjoy Hilo and all it has to offer.
  • The Wednesday and Saturday markets are quite local and fun. Lots of tropical fruit and local food. Shaved ice and loco moco also near the market. Great place to swing by when you are in Hilo.
  • One of my favorite farmer's markets in the world. Such fresh and great fruits and veggies. Nothing bad to a at all. Just full of good stuff and great people.
  • Lots of very fresh fruits and vegetables, at a reasonable price. Also have cool things to buy like knives made of volcanic rock, jewelry, kitchen tools, pictures and more. The sellers were kind locals.
  • Nice farmers market. Delicious lychees! Huge avocados! I wish I could buy more fruits but we were gonna fly back home the next day.
