Hilo Farmers Market, Hilo

Support local growers at Hilo Farmers Market, which is open daily. The market's 200 vendors sell everything from produce to handicrafts, but the market is also a hub of culture with live music and artists selling their wares. On certain days, locals are invited to rent a booth at a discount and sell their used books, second-hand clothing, and antiques. The market is its own community, and it provides a good way for visitors to get to know the locals. Visit the attraction's website for a list of featured vendors and to obtain online coupons for discounted goods. • Amazing experience here! Beautiful weather, the best smoothies and unique food ever! I wish I could come every week! The best part was when I bought banana bread and cookies from the nicest woman ever!!!! I also had my cards read and that was a great experience as well.
  • My favorite thing to do in Hilo! So fun to wander around the stalls and support local farmers and businesses. Plenty of fresh fruit and veggies, food stands (my favorite are the tamales!), and artists selling jewelry, screen printed shirts, etc. A great place to find souvenirs as well!
  • Great place to sample the local fruits and vegetables this area has to offer. Purchase a coconut and they will open it and provide a straw for a great tropical drink for kids and adults.
  • There are a lot of fruit stands to get your tropical fruit fix - and the prices are very reasonable compared to the grocery store. I love trying different fruits and seeing if I like them or not. Before buying, take a stroll through the market to check prices and see which produce looks the best. Hint: if you go at the end of the day, you might get some better deals since they don't want to pack all the extra fruits and veggies up!
  • This is a really great way to support the local economy and the hard working farmers while enjoying great quality produce and so many local favorites. Whether you want a yummy local meal or treat or local attire, jewelry, gift items, home decor, footwear, exotic flowers 💐 and fruit, something for your hair, specialty gifts for friends and family, or interesting and informative "talk story" with friendly and knowledgeable folks who are happy to share and take the time to chat with u, this is definitely something u don't want to miss. Wednesdays and Saturdays are the best days because there are more vendors and great selection. Look for the handcrafted items that make super great mementos and are sold here at truly great prices. Enjoy.
