Support local growers at Hilo Farmers Market, which is open daily. The market's 200 vendors sell everything from produce to handicrafts, but the market is also a hub of culture with live music and artists selling their wares. On certain days, locals are invited to rent a booth at a discount and sell their used books, second-hand clothing, and antiques. The market is its own community, and it provides a good way for visitors to get to know the locals. Visit the attraction's website for a list of featured vendors and to obtain online coupons for discounted goods. Our Hilo day trip planner makes visiting Hilo Farmers Market and other Hilo attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

This is great place to shop for fruits and vegetables. The prices are so worth your while to walk around and check them out! Even if you don't think about it, the flowers are so fresh and beautiful, you may be tempted to brighten your place with them. You just have to be lucky to find a parking space.
We were told that this was THE farmers market to visit on the big Island. A good selection of everything from fruits and veg through to arts and crafts. If you find yourself in Hilo and have a couple of hours to spare then it's worth stopping by.
Shop for produce here FIRST! Food items here are fresher than the grocery store typically stocks, and for less money. Talking with the vendors connects you to the local community. Great for locals and tourists alike. Fun atmosphere, family friendly, and one of the better things to do in Hilo on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
I've never been a huge fan of farmers' markets in general, but if you're into them there's local produce, you can drink milk from a freshly chopped coconut for just a few bucks, wander across the street (the market covers a couple of blocks) and buy clothing, art, small toys and collectibles. One stand even had beautiful photography on metal. So if you're into them and wanna check out some small local merchants, stop by Wed or Saturday!
If you are going for the Farmers, their goods and produce I give it 5 stars. If you are going for the "craft vendors" I would give it a 2 or 3. Many items were "designed in Hawaii" which of course means made in a cheaper country. Multiple vendors selling the exact same products is a turnoff to me at a "craft" fair.
