  • A great place, unique with a carriage ride and elk viewing before an incredible meal, with shrimp cocktail, Asian salad, crown roast of pork, and a great dessert. Wine provided during the meal. Great event for families put reunions!
  • We stayed at the campground through August and September. It is a tiny, 22 site area located at one end of the lodge area, next to the beautiful golf course. All the sites have full hookups w/50 amp and fully paved pads and patios complete with raught iron patio table sets. The 18-hole golf course is beautiful and very well kept and after 3:00pm 9 holes, including cart are only $15/person. There is a great little restaurant in the pro shop/office building that is so good and reasonably priced, it's popular with the locals as well as the resort guests. The pride of Thunder Bay Resort is the elk viewing/dinner outings. They are well organized and highly reviewed. It's fun to hear the clip clip of the horse drawn wagons going by. This is a total experience for any traveler, especially RVers. It is also only an hour from Macinaw Island and less than half hour from Alpena where all the big box stores are. And if you stay a month, with the Good Sam discount it's only $26.67/night. It's the best deal in Michigan with all the beauty of the area minus the tons of people who flock to the Traverse City area, which by the way is less than 2 hours away. Go there. You will love it.
  • Have used the RV park 3 times when in the area. Quiet, clean and no complaints! All sites are pull through and can handle large rigs that overlook a par 3 hole but angled enough to protect you from errant placed tee strokes. Restaurant has good food and polite, friendly waitstaff.
  • Great hidden gem..course in great shape..quiet lodging spot..restaurant has consistent food..be sure and check out their elk viewing tour with dinner and Michigan wines.
  • Went and golfed 18. Super nice staff, good greens, and good clubhouse with full service bar and food.
