Dry Falls, Highlands

Must see · Waterfall · Nature / Park
Unlike the name suggests, at you will see a lot of rushing water in the scenic Nantahala National Forest. The 24.4 m (80 ft) falls steam from an overhanging cliff, which you can walk under on the path and stay relatively dry. However, when it rains and the water flow is higher, you might get sprayed. Near the parking area is an observation deck where you can take in the entire waterfall. To experience the falls up close, walk the short, paved trail. Make sure to protect your camera and other electronic equipment, and consider bringing an umbrella or waterproof jacket. Admission is free and the parking area has restrooms. • No hike, but amazing waterfall. There is a parking lot and a toilet! There is a pathway that goes behind the waterfall. There are stairs that you will need to go down. Spectacular views! Loved it and will go back.
  • Beautiful waterfall just minutes of the road. They do ask for a $3 contribution for park upkeep so make sure you have a few ones with you when you go.
  • Absolutely Beautiful waterfall. 2 more falls within about 1 mile from it but this one is the prettiest. All are right by road.
  • One of the most beautiful, awe inspiring places I've ever been.
  • Beautiful waterfall, easily accessible, a must see if your driving by.
