  • My sister and I went to visit the Poe Springs. We drove in to a sign that said "closed until further notice". Would have been nice if they had posted something of this nature on the web site.  more »
  • We visited the park on Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. There were only a handful of cars when we arrived around noon. It was overcast, so possibly that accounted for it not being too busy. We used the ...  more »
  • A beautiful county park, great for day trips and fun with the family. Can swim in the spring, hike well marked trails or picnic. Now owned by City/County so hours of operation have been reduced so con...  more »

  • Found a diamond in the rough when we were at a campground with no swimming in the middle of the summer two years ago. The kids (4 of them) still talk about this place! Absolutely a great place to bring a picnic basket (plenty of picnic areas), easy access into the water, and lots of areas for smaller children to swim safely. A short walk to the river in the water where there are ropes hung from trees to enjoy! Great place! Quite a walk from the parking area but through a very nice boardwalk.
  • Extremely nice park!!! We shared a picnic here and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. There is a baseball field, walking trails, and kids playground. The restrooms are clean and well stocked. The park offers nice parking with oversize and handicap spots available. Easy to find from the local town and the gates are closed promptly at closing time. We will be returning when we revisit the area.
  • My all time favorite spring to go to...and there are SO many to choose from! This spring is FREE admission. Tons of picnic tables and pavillions. Very close bathroom/changing rooms. Long scenic boardwalk down to spring area. Wide, very large stairs area for entering the spring. (Anyone who's been to a spring knows it can take awhile to get in, and if you only have a small set of stairs, there will be a crowd of people backed up there) Lots of shallow areas plus a very deep hole that is fun to swim down to bottom of the vent. Lots of turtles. Bottom is rocky in places, kids either step carefully or wear swim shoes.
  • Nice area, my first time to a spring. Plenty of space for rest and relaxation. Water was freezing so ease your way in but great family space. Just missing a dog park area so the entire family can join in on the fun!
  • We usually go during the week so it's nice and quiet. If your looking for a nice chill spring this would be it but like I said avoid the weekends. It gets crazy just like any other spring but it's also free so it's a little easier to deal with the crowd. Short walk down the boardwalk is pretty nice ass well with good access to the mighty Santa Fe River.
