  • We've visited many Florida State Parks and enjoy them all as they are all beautiful and interesting. We found Gilchrist a lovely spot but in need of a bit more to make it a destination. We visited the park on Christmas day 2017 and found that it didn't seem have much there to keep us for very long. Of course it was a very chilly day so no swimming which appears to be the highlight.
  • Recently acquired by the state but not a single uniformed ranger available. The gate keepers ignored my annual pass and overcharged me for the entrance fee. The kid running the snack bar was nice but the bar and canoe rental facilities are third world and unsightly... especially the canoe rack at spring-side. Most of the boardwalk is closed and whats left is rickety. The jumping platform may be leaching creosote and feels unstable. The trails are short and mostly unmarked. The vegetation in and around the spring has been destroyed, but the spring still has a recognizable boil. Most kids will find the spring enchanting... its the closest thing to a municipal pool within fifty miles. The picnic area was clean and the restrooms were rudimentary but functional. The state has closed the camping facilities until further notice.
  • Great place to get out of the Florida heat and see manatee. Big park with lots of parking, wide walkways, scuba and snorkel area. Small concession area. Great for groups. Clean and well taken care of.
  • It's a very pretty natural swimming pool and a ton of beautiful trails. Would recommend for anyone who just wants to get outdoors and chill with friends. 👍🏻
  • Great Place. My New FAVORITE PLACE TO HANG OUT ON THE WEEKEND. Cheap Admission. Have a lot of picnic tables and grills by the Spring..Very Clean Camp Area..Nice Boardwalk..Water is the most amazing clear turquoise..Jumping area is a little small but that is because the spring itself is not huge. Make sure to make a reservation. When park reaches capacity they turn cars away. No one out one in..only complaint!
