Stone Hill Winery, Hermann

(480+ reviews on the web)
Winery / Vineyard Food & Drink
Tour and taste in the largest winery in the state during your visit to Stone Hill Winery. Learn about the wine, as well as the history of the winery itself. Enjoy the rustic setting of the German heritage town and building, as well as the views of the surrounding hills as you wander about. Live music is often available in the afternoons. Be sure to take note of seasonal events if you don't (or do) want to be in a crowd. Children are welcome, too--but their tastes will be grape juice, not wine. • The winery and employees did all they could to accommodate us no matter what we threw at them. The food and wine were great and the tour is so interesting. Highly recommended. Thanks Stone Hill!  more »
  • We enjoyed our visit to this winery. Staff was accommodating and knowledgeable. Highly recommend to anyone visiting this area.  more »
  • The guided tour gave critical insights into the wine making process in an underground vault. The tour makes it worthwhile but the wine available is apparently quite good, according to my companions.  more »

  • One of the best wineries in the state, with a great atmosphere. Every time we go we take a tour of the grounds. Only disappointment that I ever have is when a tour guide doesn't give enough of the rich history of the place and area. They have done a wonderful job of preserving the property and can't wait to see what they do next! Not home to my favorite wines, but many are very good. I usually prefer super-sweet wines, and they offer a few that satiate my palate.
  • Toured this Winery with my family. The view, the wine, the history of this place is great. We enjoyed the serene atmosphere and the friendly staff. Worth the tour if you find yourself around here.
  • Their wine is less than mediocre, so they clearly have good marketers or generate enough revenue from renting their venue. Their place has the best view of Hermann while selling some of the worst wine of Hermann. If you go here, save your time and just go for a sweet wine and the drink it outside to absorb the breath taking view.
  • The wine tasting room is staffed by friendly, competent servers. They brought chairs and a table for us when we asked. The sausage, saurbraten, red cabbage, German potato salad, and shrimp salad were all excallent!
  • Wonderful views, great staff! Restaurant was great at accommodating a vegan diet.
