  • Today, my 13 yr old daughter and I walked around the lake. We parked by McDonald Pond, walk passed people picnicking and fishing and accessed the trail near where we drove into the park - off Peninsul...  more »
  • Nice lake and trails with horses, people and bikes. I know it as a clean, quiet, & safe green place to hang out, but upon reading some other reviews i realize that i have just scratched the surface. M...  more »
  • Beautiful state park, very clean. We would definitely go back for a day. We were under the pavilion so even with the passing showers we still had a good time. Park ranger came over to complement the m...  more »

  • I love coming out here to BBQ. It's about 45 minutes away from Brooklyn with moderate traffic and boasts a very nice space around a lake. There are tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds and bathrooms aplenty. Lots of picnic tables and trees for shade as well as some nice short hiking trails. Stone & steel ground grills can be found all over the park though I've always brought my own. Parking lot 1 is free I believe but 2&3 are something like $8. The park is well maintained with staff emptying the garbage bins and parks & police patrols all day.
  • Great space for outdoor activities. Great place for having a large bbq party or picnic. All ages can enjoy.
  • Visit the kids park area. Which is very well maintained and fun for kids. Safe environment. Kids love it.
  • Very good park, if you are fan of barbeque. They have 3 parking lots. ($8). It is always fresh and clean air with abundance of trees.
  • Great park to take the family and bbq very nice scenery.
