  • Fond childhood memories of this place. Now, as an adult, I stop in now and again and soak up this place. Reminds you of a time long gone, old fashioned, friendly. I love that you're able to sample the grits and porridge. The selection of grains, jams and jellies, candy, etc is one of a kind and plentiful. Also, be sure to bring a quarter with you and step out on the back deck. You'll thank me later.
  • A step back in time. The Miller, Mr. Martin takes his time to explain all the details of the Mills operation. He loves it, he lives it. Having your nose to the grind stone gives meaning to the origin of the term. Stocked with many different types of grain products as if you were back in the 1800s. Most people see the exterior and drive-by never knowing what they just missed. Young adults owe it to themselves to see how things are done, The way it was in the past while these Mills still stand.
  • I thought this place was great, and I loved the grits and porridge mix I bought on my first visit. However, after sitting in my pantry for two months one of my bags of porridge became infested with some sort of bug. I thought it may have been my fault, even though none of my other dry goods had bugs in them. I made a second visit and restocked my grits and porridge, and after several months the same thing happened again, this time to my grits! This time I had placed the grits bag in an airtight ziplock bag which has no holes in it, so the bug eggs had to be in the cloth bag or the grits themselves. None of my other dry goods have bugs, and I have moved since the first purchase I made so it is not the location. I give them 2 stars for maintaining a working grist mill and stocking a lot of local goods, but don't buy any dry goods from them you plan on storing in your pantry unless you want to be disappointed later.
  • I've stopped here a few times over the years on my way to Helen. With each trip I would look forward to getting cornmeal mix and funnel cake mix...It was so good !! I've never had good customer service though..even when I made compliment's about how much I enjoyed the meal and just had to stop by ... It was like I was a bother... So I don't stop anymore.
  • Awesome place. Very friendly. The yellow grits are awesome!
