  • We parked in the car park and walked out the trail which is quite short and easy to do. We then used this as a base to walk the nearby dormant crater, which was awesome.

  • Interesting enough, but not my favorite trail in the park. If you're looking for a much more interesting (but also longer and more strenuous) hike, I highly recommend the Kilauea Iki trail instead.
  • Offers some distinct views back across the inner caldera toward the Jager museum.
  • Truly is a trail of devastation. Something I've never seen before. Quite amazing.
  • When else in your life can you walk on what was a volcano!
  • nice little hike with barely any other visitors.
