  • Went before the big eruption, and then after, the roads we'd driven on were covered by lava. Amazing indeed!
  • Interesting enough, but not my favorite trail in the park. If you're looking for a much more interesting (but also longer and more strenuous) hike, I highly recommend the Kilauea Iki trail instead.
  • Truly is a trail of devastation. Something I've never seen before. Quite amazing.
  • Offers some distinct views back across the inner caldera toward the Jager museum.
  • nice little hike with barely any other visitors.
  • This trail is an absolute recommendation. Judging from the rim of the crater down. Right and left it steams from the solidified lava. If you quickly he trail little more than an hour. However you should take some time to the one other thing to look at or work on the impressions.
