The Millard E. Tydings Memorial Bridge carries Interstate 95 (I-95) over the Susquehanna River between Cecil County and Harford County, Maryland. The toll bridge carries 29 million vehicles annually. It is upstream from the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge, which carries the parallel U.S. Route 40 (US 40).The bridge is named for Millard Tydings (1890–1961), a longtime political figure in Maryland and a U.S. Senator from 1927–1951. It was built between January 1962 and November 1963 between bluffs high above the river valley, and is posted with warning signs "Subject to Crosswinds." It was dedicated, along with the highway it carries, by U.S. president John F. Kennedy on November 14, eight days before he was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. The next year, the highway was renamed the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway. It is one of eight toll facilities operated by the Maryland Transportation Authority. The toll, levied on northbound traffic only, is $8.00 for two-axle vehicles as of July 1, 2013; larger vehicles pay another $8 per additional axle.

  • A great place for the kids! It's a large park, so it can be difficult to keep track of multiple children in the summer when large groups are there, but it's awesome on the weekends. Great if you're looking to tie your children out. There's a lovely boardwalk nearby for a beautiful walk.
  • Beautiful water views. Board walk over to lighthouse and decoy museum Great playground ates for kids. Picnic tables, restrooms, food/ice cream available. Plenty of parking?
  • Great place to go for a low-key day outdoors, there is a great playground for kids, the view of the water is great, there is a quant outdoor restaurant/ice cream place with really good food, and there is a peer that goes along the waters edge that is a great place to go for a run or a nice walk that ends at a light house.
  • I was at the Havre de Grace city marina which is a very nice marina, but they asked me to review the park. The park is awesome. Lots of thing for kids to play, climb, swing, and slide on. The park has grills for a picnic. In the summer there is Friday night concert. Havre de Grace is a very nice town to visit. Many good restaurants and shops. In the warmer months the promenade grill is a nice place to grab a bite or an ice cream cone. Hope you enjoy
  • Great equipment. Lovely views. Could use more parking though.
