This was an exceptionally fun visit to the zoo as we were toured behind the scenes and then led to the sloths where we were able to interact and hold one! This was my favorite zoo trip by far from any... read more »
My wife and I visited the Jackson, Miss Zoo and then the Hattiesburg Zoo. We were very impressed by how inexpensive the Hattiesburg Zoo was (only $5) and what a great value it was for those $5. We had... read more »
My husband and I had a great time walking around and seeing all the animals. It only took us between 1 and 2 hours, but it was well worth the price. I do wish there were more shaded rest areas in view of the animals, though. We will be back again!

This is a fun zoo. I took just a short trip from mobile because I seen it had a great rating from other reviews. However, I was saddened when I found out the Jaguar Sampson had died just a few months ago. On the other hand, there is a train that goes around the whole park. Some of the park is under construction for new exhibits. Not sure when they will be done but I surly will be back to visit here. Zoo staff is very friendly and vibrant. Besides the young lady in the gift shop. As me and my friends walked in she really made me just want to turn around and go back home. She may have been in a bad mood, but it really was a horrible welcoming.
Great place for a 1/2 day adventure with my grandson. Seeing a live Macaw out of its cage was great. Grandson having the opportunity to explore the conga drums and and xylophone and other instruments was real fun. The petting zoo was great, too.
I have two small children. My two year old has loved coming here since she can remember. The zoo is small, but to a little kid that doesn't matter much. She loves the train rides, and the splash pad in the summer. They offer a season pass for families and we've gotten our money's worth with how often we go. She is talking about "go zoo?" For days after we go.
Wonderful staff, very caring and informative
