  • The apples are VERY good. It's a tad overpriced for a bag to go picking with. The Apple blossom honey is great, and fairly priced. The caramel apples are not great at all. Fun picking experience.
  • I don't remember much since it's been a couple years since I've been here but I do remember this: this place is over-commercialized for an apple orchard. And based upon the current reviews, nothing has changed. Based upon reading the replies by the owner, he or she feels self entitled to rip money or of people's pockets without regard for family or good business practice. We all understand that as a business owner, you want to turn a profit. But this, this goes beyond trying to make some money. I feel (and it doesn't seem like just me) that you have lost what it means to have a good, family oriented, business. You have an apple orchard. That, in itself, is attraction by itself. Let people have fun with it. Don't assume that everyone is trying to steal -what appears to be your mentality- (I mean eat while picking) your apples. People can be honest and will be honest when you're not being greedy. Go visit some other orchards that are around the Rockford area. See how they operate. I may be partial but, I think you might actually feel the difference. I know I didn't like the feeling of going to your establishment.
  • Great Orchard: Fun variety of apples, smells are amazing and store is a lot of fun and generous with samples. The apple picking requires a good amount of walking (or tractor ride) but the walking is a fun part to us. The variety of apples is great, the kids area has fun homemade play sets and a petting zoo, train ride, merry go round. The people are friendly and we love going during the week to avoid the crowds. On weekends I think you have to pay for parking too, so the venture isn't cheap, but the drive out there and the whole experience doesn't disappoint. coupons for large families would go a long way.
  • We visited Royal Oak for the first time last year and we loved it! Of course we went back this year, and they were wonderful once again. Huge apple selection, and there's always people out in the orchard willing to help you out! This year our 5 year old managed to set his apple bag down somewhere in the orchard, he was pretty bummed about it and told a woman named Cindy about it when we were purchasing some honey from the shop. Cindy took him to the pre picked apples and let him fill a bag up to make up for his lost apples, he was so excited and happy! Thank you to Cindy and Royal Oak Farm for another great visit. We'll be back every year 😊
  • An absolute blast. Great employees. Wonderful restaurant. Great general store with incredible pies. We go every year.
