  • The playground was redone the summer of 2017 and is a showstopper! It has sections for younger and older children and is VERY nice! The beach, splash pad, pool and walking or biking paths are things we've also enjoyed. There are basketball courts and popular picnic areas as well as nice restrooms and a snack shop. This is an easy and fun place to spend a few hours.
  • The walking path that leads to the metro park is great. There has been updates to the park. Beach area is ok, parts of it are taken over by the local birds and sea weed gets kinda nasty. It is off of Lake St. Clair, you'll see lots of boats. Going there for the splash zone is nice, and to putt putt. There are some spots that are nice to take senior pictures at. Not one of my first choices of the Metro Parks to visit. 3 stars at time *****Update**** Sept./Oct 2017 I went with my family on an unusually hot day for fall. Many Updated and rearranged parking area. Updated the playground for the children, nice splash pad, and clean bathrooms. Beach still mucky but whatever. I didn't do the board walk but I saw a bunch of new outdoor workout equipment being used. Wish I lived closer so I could go to this location more often.
  • A great place to talk a walk or a bike ride. Plenty of things to do including two basketball courts, tennis, shuffle board, golf, horseshoe, fishing, boat slip, kayaking, swimming pool with slide and diving board, kids water park, nature building, store for beach supplies, restaurant, kids playground, musical entertainment, dancing, boat docks, volleyball, a beach, and I'm sure more that I can't think of right now. I suggest getting the annual pass!
  • We enjoy visiting this park any time of year. We mainly go for walking the trails and birding. Plenty of cool ducks in the winter and the Great Horned Owl pair that has been nesting in the bucket for the past several years.
  • The park has come a long ways since the name change from Metro Beach. The price is higher for entrance, but the money seems to be going to good use. New play ground equipment, parking lot resurfacing, new enclosed shuttle bus with little trailer, and many more positive changes.
