  • Lovely display of candy through the decades. Having worked in the candy industry, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Also for sale was jellies and honey.  more »
  • WOW!! Candies galore......didn't know that they still made those candies I remember from my childhood days. They also had a large assortment of sodas from back in the day......just fond memories.  more »

  • What a neat place! In the middle of historic Harper's Ferry, this candy shop has many treats with neat tidbits about when and how they came along! The shop owner was extremely friendly and loved sharing with my child about the candy she picked out. There's also a cool tree, growing right through the store!
  • Cute little candy shop. The owner and staff was very friendly, informative and provided fascinating historical details regarding different products they have. Lots of authentic candies using recipes from the past.
  • Cute historical candy shop in the heart of Harpers Ferry! I saw some other reviewers feel the prices were too high, but taking into consideration that this is very much a tourist heavy area the prices were not bad. My kids got Turkish delight, cola gummies, old fashioned pop, and whoopie pies. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and they also offer a 10% military discount which always is appreciated. If you're in the area stop by for a unique treat!
  • A very nice old timey shop with some fun historical candies. Not exactly what I expected, but still fun! I think I would have liked some bulk candies in bins, but the packages with history on the candies was nice too. I liked that they used an old box as a register, it was a fun touch.
  • You probably didn't come to Harpers Ferry to go to a candy store - but maybe you should have! True Treats is more than a shop, it's a primer on the history of sweets and treats from antiquity to the present. The chronological organization makes it easy to learn a thing or two while you're browsing for something tasty, and the owner is knowledgeable and enthusiastic on the subject of sweets. Well worth a stop, even a trip. Try the Clove Bullets.
