  • Something for everyone, history on so many levels food, shopping, hiking, cliff climbing, even saw people fishing.
  • The trail and the AT headquarters are here in Harpers Ferry so it's a must stop at & do. Find out why the AT is so special to so many.
  • There are many beautiful sections of the Appalachian trail along it's 2100 miles. This section, particularly the bridge over the river, is one of the absolute highlights. Jefferson considered it worth...  more »

  • This is one of my favorite stretches of trail. I love to watch it change as the seasons move through. Each storm leaves a mark, a scar, a memory. The parking area is a great picnic spot, as well as a place to leave gifts for the thru hikers. Continue north to the Manassas Gap Shelter or south to Trumbo Hollow. Each spot has its own personality and beauty.
  • Trail is well marked and maintained. A lot of the water sources are very close to drying up, so fill up whenever you can. Putting it off could leave you thirsty
  • Well maintained trail that takes you through breath taking splendors of nature.
  • It was a Beautiful trail I hiked a lot of trails in the boy scouts but none compared to the Appalachian trail its a lot of nature to soak in I wish I was able to WALK THE WHOLE trail to SEE the beautiful nature our country has to offer before its gone with a corrupt president distroying OUR national forest its ONLY a matter of time tell he distroys the trail too so if YOUR able get out THERE and hike it before the corrupt government PIG'S distroy s it
  • I don't understand. How is this the beginning or end if it's not in Georgia or Maine?
