  • Wonderful place. Definitely worth the trip and can't wait to go again. Make sure you pay attention to the tour times of the Eucharistic Center as that is when you must go to see it and you wouldn't want to miss it.
  • It was a beautiful, wonderful, amazing experience! A great way to deepen your relationship in the serenity of it all. Hoping to return on another pilgrimage.
  • I stop here for at least an hour anytime I travel north or south on I65. About 18 miles off the highway taking the Hanceville exit. Suggest you go to the website, check out the daily schedule, and time your visit accordingly. Hearing the Poor Clare Nuns in their prayers and saying the Rosary with them, Mass in the lower chapel, and the JP2 Eucharistic Center tour were the wonderful highlights of today's visit. A refreshing oasis of Catholicism in the Deep South, Dixie, and the Bible Belt!
  • So beautiful and peaceful. I am so thankful that I made this trip.
  • Passing through Alabama and decided to take the 2 hour detour to visit the shrine. Was surprised to find a strict dress code for entrance into the main church and lower church. That's not very accomodating to visitors of this Deep South facility. They did provide temporary clothes, but I can see how that could make some people uncomfortable. The grounds were beautiful. The churches were beautiful. The large nativity was so nice. It is a very tranquil place, a very peaceful place. I felt like we were walking on holy ground. Very much worth the detour!
