  • Beautiful view of the mountain range in the distance with all the tarot fields in the valley below. All nice and green! A good spot for some pics.
  • Hanalei Valley Lookout is located on the road that leads to Hanalei, and then to the northern part of the island. A stop so it's mandatory because the scenery that can be seen is certainly beautiful with cultivated fields that take you back to the memory of landscapes in Southeast Asia. Demerit point the vegetation directly opposite the lookout untreated which partly covers the Visual.

  • This lookout is just west of Princeville turnoff on the mauka side of the road. The views of the valley and taro fields are spectacular. BUT, the county of Kauai needs to do a little vegetation remedi...  more »

  • Great viewpoint on the mauka (mountain) side of Highway 56 at Princeville. Much of Hawai'i's commercial production of taro, made into poi and chips, takes place here. It is believed that taro has been grown here since at least the year 700. Namolokama Mountain is visible in the background.
  • You'll miss this quick pull off if you are not paying attention. The parking is area is poorly set up and the re-entry is problematic if there is any traffic or the site is busy. Had people backing out in front of me, more cars pulling in quickly and blocking people from leaving, and cars facing one another; so neither could see or drive out of the small turn off. Otherwise, if you want to risk it, the view is not bad.
  • Awesome Valley Overlook. Must see stop. Good parking with fast turnover. Great storyboards.
  • Really impressive overlook - you get this Jurrasic Park feeling 😜😜 you should really stop for a good pic!
  • Amazing view and picture opportunity of Hanalei's lo'i or taro fields.
