  • I always like going here for a hike or just a relaxing walk through the woods, when I'm up in the Newport News/Hampton area. This is a great little nature getaway preserved rather nicely in a growing and bustling area, a nice escape you could suggest! The park staff is always friendly and informative and this is a nice place to take the kids to learn about nature and the environment around them. They also have yurts here you can pay to stay in during the summer and fall, and they are exceptionally quaint and cozy! I would highly recommend giving this place a go if you're looking to unwind and enjoy a little nature for a day with the family or even just by yourself. I will forewarn those not so snake lovers out there, that there can tend to be a snake here or there so paying attention is always beneficial!
  • Beautiful park. Nice walking trails that go through trees and past lakes. Nature center has live animals and educational material. Dog park. Butterfly garden. Fishing and other activities. Playgrounds. Camping. Great place to relax, enjoy nature, and just be outdoors.
  • Great trails. Good for walking and getting lost, on purpose. The playgrounds are great, as my nieces and nephews love them
  • We love coming here! We will bring our dogs once a week to play at their dog park and they get so excited everytime we get close to the park. I also love coming here in the fall and taking long walks with all of the beautiful trees.
  • Beautiful and well kept grounds. Great rates for kayak and canoe rentals. Good dog park if you have a registered dog.
