Winner of the 2017 Virginia Governor's Cup for 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon!! The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards is a family owned and operated winery housed on a refurbished dairy farm. The winery is located just off of Route 7 in the quaint, historic town of Hamilton, Virginia only ten minutes from historic Leesburg. Beginning with carefully selected Virginia grapes, winemaker Michael Shaps creates wines inspired by the Bordeaux French style, but are uniquely expressive of Virginia. Eleven breathtaking acres surround a beautifully restored hundred and seven-year-old stone and wood bank barn, which has been transformed into a unique tasting room. Our winemaker is Michael Shaps, Owner of Virginia Wine Works.

  • We absolutely LOVED working with The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards on a recent wedding! It was one of our favorite weddings to day. The bride and bridesmaids got ready in the farmhouse on property which was so charmingly decorated and covered in windows and light - which makes for gorgeous photos while the bride gets ready. The ceremony was at a chapel in Leesburg, but then we returned for portraits, cocktail hour, and the reception. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and we hardly even explored very far during portraits. The lower level of the barn was an intimate and beautiful space for dinner, with long tables that encouraged people to socialize. The upper level was the perfect place for a party - a large dance floor area, plenty of room for people to sit and socialize, and a patio to get fresh air with a view of the dance floor inside to ensure nobody misses the most exciting moments. The string lights and chandeliers left this feeling rustic-romantic and the full wood interior leaves a cozy and warm ambience. Finally, they allowed for a sparkler sendoff at the end of the night which was a ton of fun! It was a perfect day and The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards was a perfect venue.
  • My wife and I toured every single barn or ‘rustic’ venue in Loudoun & Fairfax County before we settled on The Barns as our location for our wedding and reception. We knew immediately upon stepping foot on the property this was “The One” and was exactly what we has been searching for. The property & buildings have a long and deep history, which the owners have preserved and highlighted in all the right ways. Everything down to the restrooms were extremely clean and well maintained, plenty of room, the walk-in stone ground floor has plenty of room not to mention all sitting on amazing views. What really sealed the deal for us was meeting Susan (The property Manager). Susan and the owners were so pleasant to work with and her amazing hospitality made us feel like we were welcomed just like family there. She had excellent advice and made four of our vendor recommendations we ended up selecting! She was always eager to answer any questions and accommodated every request we had during the long planning process. The event went off perfectly and our guests could not stop raving about the location, barn and venue. We couldn’t agree with them more and couldn’t imagine a more picturesque place to host our special day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for anyone researching.
  • Visited this cute winery on a late Monday afternoon. Figured I'd be stuck in traffic anyways, might as well do a tasting, have a snack and head home post traffic. I did the reserve tasting for $15 since I typically like aged and drier wines, I enjoyed the Meritage and Cabernet Sauvignon the most. The person doing the tasting gave great descriptions as I tasted each wine plus it helped that she and I had similar palettes. The Meritage is a rich, full-bodied red wine crafted solely from noble Bordeaux grape varieties - Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv, Merlot, and Malbec and I found this to be drier than the Cabernet Sauvignon. Also enjoyed tasting their port! I ended up spending $73.14 just by myself! -$15 reserve tasting -$32 Meritage bottle -$9 glass of Cabernet Sauvignon -$10 salami -$3 baguette So they have an picnic basket option for $25 which is a great value: -1 cheese -1 meat -1 spread -1 baguette or crackers They also have live music and multiple seating areas both indoor and outdoor.
  • My husband and I got here an hour before they closed and we were refused a tasting because nobody had come until15 minutes ago. They said they could not open wines to taste as they would go bad. Honestly, we drove for an hour and are only even that close because my husband is training with the military. So disappointed to have a tasting room, be open and refuse service. What if we got there early in the day and nobody came after us? You still would have opened the wines. Disappointed in the lack of understanding and service
  • Great wine! Beautiful venue (rustic). Friendly staff! One of our favorite places!!
