Cava Winery & Vineyard is a winery in Hardyston Township (mailing address is Hamburg) in Sussex County, New Jersey. The vineyard was first planted in 2005, and opened to the public in 2008. Cava has 5 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 3000 cases of wine per year. The winery is named for the Italian word cava which means "cave," reflecting the mining heritage of Sussex County.

  • Wine tastes spoiled, seriously. The cheese platter terrible. We could not finish anything. Pretty sad representation of a "winery experience", and a shame for such a beautiful setting.
  • Most of their wines are very sweet and fruity. Food portions are fairly small too. The out doors area is very nice and had an acoustic guitarist playing.
  • Very good winery. Very mellow atmosphere. The tastings were pretty cool. Look forward to visiting again.
  • We wanted to try this winery insteadof warwick. There were 5 hostess at the doorand we were told the outside was full but you could do wine ttastingat outside bar.. I asked about food and was told i could order a cheese platter...perfect! The bartender then said there is no food at bar . I saw the same hostessand told him we were told we couldn't order food. He should hsve orderd it and brought it t us instead he walked away wtf...we left and would never go back!
