  • You can watch for whales, walk, or relax on the easy to access beach. There are even well-placed benches waiting for you! We were lucky enough to park and in minutes see three whales close to the shor...  more »
  • Head north from the parking lot to get to the trail down to the beach. Parking is hourly rather than Half Moon Bay which is $10 for the day.
  • Great horse riding beach, with easy in/out horse trailer parking. So great for a no-hassle beach ride. Great for dogs too.

  • Great place to take your pup to run around, to lay in the sand and have a picnic, or just to sit on the bluff with a coffee from nearby Starbucks and look for whales while listening to the surf. We're hitting close to 50% for whale sightings during season.
  • Probably the best beach in Half Moon Bay for walking your dog. Parking can be hard to find on weekends and the beach is frequented by horseback tours so there is too much horse manure strewn about for my taste. The beach gets nicer and less crowded as you walk south toward the Ritz Carlton. Beware in the summer the place may be overrun by dead velella velella that turn the beach into a disgusting wasteland.
  • Check temperature to be prepared. When I went there in the evening, it was pretty cold due to fog, behind which the sun always remained.
  • Great place for family and dog lovers. The beach is clean and beautiful. The trail along the coast line has amazing views and plenty of seating along the way to sit back and enjoy.
  • Good place to hangout with friends and family. Do carry your eating stuff so you can enjoy the view and fill your tummy.
