Fun place to go...just like old times but without the speaker attached to your car window. Pretty good food, fairly inexpensive and first run movies! We happened to go on a perfect for a drive-in weather evening! Nice breeze and low humidity on a hot August day! Go...take the family...enjoy dinner...and popcorn...and maybe even cuddle a bit. You'll have a fun evening!
Inexpensive Food, fun environment, friendly people and staff. A great place for the family. I wanted to take my wife to a near extinct experience, going to one of the few remaining Drive-ins. It was a great time, we really enjoyed ourselves. We had a problem with one of car doors and my extension the interior lights (they wouldn’t go out). The staff came to our rescue (we asked for duct tape to diminish the interior lighting, they procured it and helped us to utilize it, thereby saving the day). Make sure you make yourself familiar with the seasonal opening/closing schedule. The was good food in the way of burgers, dogs, and ice cream, etc. (very inexpensive as movie venues go). Arrive early, get a good spot, you will definitely enjoy yourself!
I enjoyed my 1st drive in movie experience. The parking lot should have been made to slope so you could see over vehicles. I do believe the sound could be enhanced for those opting not to sit in their vehicles because of their inability to see the screen. Otherwise, we were able to move our family of 6 to a more open area and borrow a speaker from the staff that made the movie awesome!! Thank you!
The Goochland Drive-in Movie is one of my favorite places to go have a good time. Their price for admission simply can't be beat! You get a lot a bang for your buck! They have a very friendly staff, especially their security team and they go out of their way to make their customers feel safe and comfortable. Their concession stand offers a good variety of food and drinks. They usually offer a double feature on the main screen or you watch a movie on the Grove, which is a second screen behind the concession stand. Each screen offers a different set of movies, so make sure you decide which movies you want to see before getting there. Check the listings on their website. And you cannot park your car on the Grove because it is a grassy area. You have to either sit on a lawn chair or lay a blanket on the ground like a picnic. I took my family to see the Avengers Infinity:Endgame which was three hours long so this the only feature. Watching a movie at the Goochland Drive In is a wonderful experience. Bring your family and friends, you won't be disappointed!
Very cool experience. Food was better than you'd expect, and cheaper. First run movie, easily visible on the big screen. Check your car - you need to be able to leave the radio on with no lights at all, or bring a portable FM radio.
