Hackberry General Store, Hackberry

#3 of 97 in Shopping in Arizona
Take a step back in time at Hackberry General Store, a former gas station that represents one of the most iconic stops along the famous highway Route 66. Stop by the store on your drive and admire its extensive collection of nostalgia, ranging from old billboards and advertisements to gas pumps and storefront items. Wander the grounds to see a quintessential slice of the famous highway, keeping an eye open for rusting hulks of classic muscle cars and other equipment. Grab a deliberately kitschy souvenir from the store's offerings, many of which feature replicas of its displays outside. Is a classic gift shop on Orute 66. The road offers little and then stopping in this place worth a stop to break the monotony. The souvenirs range from magnets to t-shirts at license plates. There are also some really original plates, with that rusty appearance. You always leave with something.

Classic store full of old things some interesting others a bit less to be corrected. If you follow the route66 a stop is required.

Located on old route 66 east of Kingman, AZ. Old cars, gas pumps, signs, store full of funky stuff. Like a small Rt 66 museum actually. A local was sitting out front jamming on his electric guitar. Great stop. Don't tell any one please.

The real deal along Route 66. It doesn't get any better than this place. Great prices and excellent service. Try the original "Route Beer" when you stop here.

If you are traveling along old 66 from Kingsman to Seligman (or vice versa) this is the place to stop and have a cool drink. Its a bit of a tourist trap, but not overpriced. Old rusted cars give this place a special charm and appeal. Worth the stop.

Good shop to buy cold drinks and souvenirs of the Route 66. You can see old abandoned cars around the place.

I was cold from being out early taking photos and they had the stove going and coffee. Tons of cool stuff to look at. The walls and ceiling are covered with all kinds of memorabilia and there are dressed mannequins placed around, including the ladies room. Friendly service, very cozy place. I spent 45 minutes in front of the stove with my coffee. Felt right at home
