KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort, Gurnee
(3.3/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Northern Illinois might be far from the tropics, but you'll quickly forget this fact among the wild water rides, lazy-river floats, and palm-lined wading pools of the always-warm KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort. Splash down a 300 m (1,000 ft) long body slide, and let the hurricane vortex whirlpool ride sweep you away. If you'd rather take it easy, hop in the wave pool or float along the "creek" on an inner tube. The water park also features a large whirlpool spa for adults only. Lifeguards are on duty in all sections. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Gurnee holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • This was our first visit to one of these indoor waterparks. It was better than I had expected, but pricey. Food and drink were probably about 1.5-2x as much as you'd find on the street. Pools and water features seemed well done, safe, and had a bunch of lifeguards everywhere. Wasn't super exciting for our toddler, but there is even a toddler play area. Rooms were nice but nothing special. Overall, a nice occasional splurge.
  • Great place to visit. The arcade is fun the food is good. Yeah some stuff is expensive but it's a good time. The indoor water park is awesome and the life guards are very helpful especially the female ones. If your on the fence just go it's a blast.
  • Check in took a bit longer than expected. Rooms were decent. Water park was nice but fairly compact. We didn't go on a "peak" day but I could see it getting crowded easily.
  • Great for the family. We went for a birthday party and the kids had a blast at the arcade and at the waterpark. Enough to do for a weekend. My 4 year old twins and my 15 month old loved the little kids area. It was fun for my wife and I as well.
  • Clean environment. Friendly staff. Water park is rather small. Number of available tubes is lacking. Good for kids under 9 years old. Probably ideal for kids under 7.
