  • WOW! I had researched the drive to Crystal Mill and it was as accurate as the reviews were. The road is more like a trail and has more bumps than a Black Diamond ski run. This has been on my list of "...  more »

  • This is the hike to go on if you want to avoid the crowds. Beautiful setting and a photographer's playground. A lot of claims that this is the most photographed location in Colorado, which can't be statistically supported given the droves of people that you see every day at Maroon Bells compared to the relative few that make the effort to get out to this location. The hike is very manageable hike with little elevation gain compared to the other local trails and offers lots of lookouts and opportunities to go off the beaten path by the river.
  • It's a beautiful place but really hard to get there. The trail is all rock with ups and down. I used my bicycle but I barely rode it. Next time I'm going to pay for the full tour with the Jeep company. There is no full access to the mill because is private property. By the way is a worthy hike with full exercise. Took 4 hours and half round trip with bike
  • 4x4 a must, the road gets a little gnarly & steep from time to time. The drive is beyond beautiful, definetly worth it. Several camping spots along the way, till Lizard Lake. Only a couple spots after the lake. Great journey & destination for the wilderness type.
  • This was the most incredible to see in person.. I've seen many photos of it but it was absolutely amazing and breathtaking almost unreal ❤
  • Hard to get to. I would recommend an SUV.
