Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club, Gulf Shores

4.1
#8 of 25 in Golf in Alabama
The center piece of the Peninsula is its 27-hole championship golf course that has been selected as one of the "most memorable and enjoyable" courses in the southeast. The course was designed by Earl Stone to offer a constantly changing variety of golf and visual appeal that will keep even the most avid golfer challenged and captivated both by its design and surroundings. The playing is accentuated by its three distinctive nine-hole courses that offer you a dramatically different playing experience time after time.

  • Played 27 holes of golf while on a 4 day trip to Orange Beach. Seven of us played. Staff was very friendly, and course was absolutely beautiful. Had one of the best hamburgers I have ever eaten in the...  more »
  • Played Peninsula again yesterday. As always, the course was in great shape, even after aerating the greens two weeks ago. Always a consistently well conditioned course with a fun 27 hole layout. Great...  more »
  • We enjoyed the whole experience of playing the course and eating at the top-notch club house. Not too expensive to play at a world class facility like this one. Can't wait to bring friends back.  more »

  • I give a 3 star solely based on what you get for your money. It's a nice course just not a $120 a round. Their sister course over at craft farms is about $30 to $40 cheaper to play and in a lot better shape. The tee boxes here I'd rate 3 at best, fairways 4.5, rough (no grass very spotty and sandy) I give a 2. Greens challenging just not in great shape 3.5. I'd play hear again, not for anything close to $100 though.
  • Very impressed with the conditions on all three golf courses. One of the few places on the Alabama Gulf Coast where you get a coastal feel to your golf experience, really great service and I love their Pro-Shop! Looking forward to the next visit. Don't forget to ask for your free cookie!
  • Loved this course. This was my first trip to the ocean and I loved all the golf in gulf shores.
  • Got the double play and played back to back days. Had early am tee times. First day was paired with a twosome and second day solo. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Courses were in excellent condition. Played from blue tees first day and struggled a bit. Mainly because of my drive not being up to par. Played whites second day and had much better and enjoyable experience. Cold apples on 1st tees, towels in carts, and saw beverage cart both days. Overall very positive experience. Would highly recommend.
  • Course was in great shape. However customer service was less than par. No water on course. No beverage cart. My partner and I was in bad shape after 9. Seemed like we were a bother to everyone. Won't be back. Was told they are cutting hours to save money?? Course was full. How much $$$ did they lose?
