  • Didn't use the beach, but the adjacent park provides a wonderful spot to see the New London Harbour Lighthouse and the New London Ledge Lighthouse as well as the high speed (40 mph) ferry from Block I...  more »
  • Beach is very well maintained and the grounds and restaurant are just wonderful. Food is very inexpensive, staff is super friendly and the entire beach grounds are non-smoking, very nice.  more »
  • Busy beach in the summer, parking rates apply mid June through Labor Day. If you go a lot, you can purchase a pass for the summer. Zberski house can be rented for small events. There is also a concess...  more »

  • This is a nice small beach that has a basket ball court and a play ground for kids. This beach is located in the wealthy part of town so be prepared to deal with those regulars, especially the elderly ones. There are packs of them who act like they own the beach and will yell at you or your children and tell you all the rules God forbid you or a child slips up!(They usually sit near the entrance and near the rock wall where kids like to search for hermit crabs. Just set up further near thw basket ball court.). Their concession stand offers food, drinks and icecream that's surprisingly affordable since their parking is overpriced at $27(which cost more than the huge famous Ocean Beach that's in the next town over; probably to discourage tourist and non wealthy visitors). There are bathrooms, changing rooms and showers that are both inside and outside as well. There are lifeguard on duty and they are strict! Of course its all for safety but Id rather sign a waiver. Overall its a nice beach with gorgeous views and scenery all around.
  • Don't go! Arrived at 4:00pm still had to pay the full $16.00 entrance fee. Signs everywhere saying don't do this, don't do that. Seaweed was unbelievable, couldn't even swim. Locals very cold and unwelcoming. Just a bad trip. First and last time, for this experienced beach girl. !!
  • The beach is good for kids, playground, its quiet, guarded and small waves. It's pricey to go here though, $27 for out of state, which for what it is, is too much. Not sure I'd go back..
  • Sweet little beach. Old fashioned concession stand with simple menu, chowder, hot dogs etc. Surprised to hear a blogger talk about "beach junk" in the water. It really does depend on time of year and tide. We've braved the seaweed, wading through a bit to open clear water with nice sandy bottom. There is regular maintenance of the beach, seaweed removal and sand raked. Plenty of grassy areas to lay out your blanket or use one of many benches or picnic tables. Stunning views of Fishers Island, Long Island Sound with ferries, sailboats and even the occasional submarine passing by. Playground for the little ones and fishing in designated corner of the parking lot.
  • I never new this place existed until I went with several members of our motorcycle club "The New London Motorcycle Club" who help raise money for this event every year....our beautiful dignified homeless people who are our neighbors and vets...a couple of our club members partake in the jumping in the ocean in the middle of winter.........it must have been 20 degrees out and windy as hell..........beautiful event, great cause, wonderful people, the beach has rough outcroppings and some hardy waves......its clean...tucked away from the more commercial beach locations, very romantic place to bring your lady, and just a real nice place to hang out with some good friends and take it in.............
