  • Nice place to hike. I would rate difficulty as moderate. There are many trails. Good for friends, family, dogs. You can camp, swim, besides some water activities. The scenes is okay. Not breath taking...  more »
  • Beautiful area! The leaves were in full color change, the breeze was cool and crisp, the sun was shining. It was a perfect day for a low key hike and we thoroughly enjoyed the drive and facilities. $5...  more »
  • Went on a hike in late fall after most of the leaves were down. Nice area, but still HATE paying $10 to get into a SP to hike with my wife. Nice enough scenery, but not special enough to pay for.

  • Excellent state park in the upstate of South Carolina! Fishing can be a little challenging. Personally, I have had more success in the North Lake, but this can be quite a haul for little folks (It's a 45 minute hike to the lake at a brisk pace). Trail running is great on several trails, but you will want to make sure you don't get on one of the strenuous trails. Mountain biking, swimming, and picnic shelters are some of the amenities that the park has to offer. In the peak summer months, the park can get quite crowded, especially on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
  • It's a beautiful state park right in your backyard, if living in Greenville. The $5 per adult was a little steep and the paddle boats definitely need to be serviced (think of the shopping cart that you always get at Walmart), but other than that, its a lovely place to relax and unwind.
  • Too crowded, too many mountainbikers for me. My wife and I tried the Sulphur Springs trail last sunday and it was waaay too crowded for us. You are literally never alone on this trail, either you have some people in front of you, or some right behind you. There are also a lot of mountain bikers on the trail so you have to jump to the sides quite frequently. There is just a part of the trail that is "hikers only". If you want to get away from the city and the people on a weekend, this park is not a good choice. If you go during the week it is probably better, the park itself is very nice.
  • Back to Nature... Love hiking, camping and slowing down from hectic/busy life... Family Friendly and staffed by folks who care...
  • Excellent place to take your mountain bike. It's an exhausting climb up to the firetower, but well worth the ride back down. The lakeside trails have excellent views.
