Falls Park on the Reedy, Greenville

4.9
Built on reclaimed land from textile mills, Falls Park on the Reedy is home to the Upstate Shakespeare Festival. Enter the park's pedestrian bridge from Main Street in the West End District, where you'll also find the visitor center and restaurants. The first point of interest is the large bronze sculpture by Bryan Hunt next to the entrance. A footpath crosses over the cascades and the remaining wall of a 1776 grist mill. • My wife and I went on a date here and love it! She went to school in the area so she we very familiar with it. There are two waterfalls to view and plenty of space to walk. There is also a walking bridge. It looks like couples like to get married here and there are occasionally events held here. If you want some fresh air, this is great. There are also two coffee shops, a bistro, and some other shops right by it. All within easy walking distance.
  • A great place to hang out and have a good time. The restaurant selection is fantastic & the park itself is clean and well maintained. They have nice benches and bench-swings spread throughout, and the bridge offers a great view. The only thing I would be cautious about is wading into the water because it has a lot of leeches. But other than that downside, it's a great park.
  • A real treat for those who like seeing nature up close. We had a red tail hawk catch and eat a squirrel less than 20 meters from us. I tried to include a photo that won't upset anyone. If you like birding, the trails here attract a fun assortment of flying buddies you can spend the day watching. Also you can walk to three zoo easily and go see the birds there.
  • This is one of the most Beautiful places & cities I have ever been. So many places to eat and hang out by the water. The suspension bridge is spectacular, especially at night. The whole area has so much sight seeing to do and shops, very walkable. There are some gorgeous places to stay right along The Reedy, and it's a great place for morning walks or runs. I highly recommend visiting this area. Ps: great a freak shake (milkshake) & burger at Grill Marks.
  • I cannot say enough about this park. The layout is perfect. The waterfall is obviously a huge feature, but the walking paths around the park are wonderful. There are nice areas to sit a bit or you can bike around. The park is so push and gorgeous. You have to check it out if you can.
