  • It's got a lot of great information. If you're at all interested in south west history, or river running this is a great place to spend a few hours. It has a lot of fascinating info about the John Wes...  more »
  • Fantastic, thorough, informsative museum. Well laid out. Covers Powell's trips, but also includes geological history of area.
  • Lots of good information on a generally forgotten part of American History. A little confusing set up as it seems to not be too linear in progression. Hard to follow. But again, well worth a visit if ...  more »

  • If you plan on spending some time on the Green or the Colorado rivers then you need to stop by this museum! It was a great experience for me and my wife. Really cool to watch the documentary about Powell's explorations, see how things were done back in his time and learn how truly insane it was to be the first explorer to map out this region. Really friendly folks who run this place and there are alot of interactive exhibits for kids and grown-ups alike!
  • Good museum if you want to understand the Canyonlands. The bookstore is a great place to buy guides and maps to the area.
  • It was a nice and short stop for us in Green River. We learned much about John Wesley Powell's expeditions and the development of the region. The story was quite different from that of the East Coast. We were the only group while we were there. We paid the full price for the admission fee and only stayed for about 50 mins. I wish that the curators could be more informative about the exhibits. The education and programs manager seemed uninterested in interacting with visitors. This was a slight disappointment to me.
  • The movie alone was worth the $6 admission price for adults (only $1 for kids 5-15!). We are glad we stopped in. We found all the staff welcoming.
  • Very well done museum for such a small town. Interesting and informative exhibits, nice collection relating to river history.
