  • We were awed at the size of the boards used in building this schoolhouse. The road into it is a bit scary, very narrow with no room to pull over and pass oncoming cars. Next time, I'll walk. Go on a T...  more »

  • This is a rustic historical building that shows how the first settlers of this area had community events like school and church. There is an old cemetery here from 150 years ago. Reminds me of the schoolhouse from Little House on the Prairie. Depending on the time of year, you can hike here or even drive right up to it.
  • Very nice. Worth the short hike
  • Nice easy trail close to home. Dogs can go on road trail to the school but not to house.
  • The park has taken good care of the school house. There's not much to see but there are trails to get there from the picnic area, or you can just drive up there and park.
  • This is an interesting building, and it's super accessible. If you're up for a small hike, it's also the trailhead to the Walker Sisters cabin (1.1 miles away on a (mostly) gravel trail).
