  • We were here in early spring, the road to the schoolhouse was closed to cars but it's a short hike up from the main road. The cemetery is really interesting, the schoolhouse is nice but has lots of gr...  more »
  • There's a path from Metcalf Bottoms up to the Little Greenbriar schoolhouse and cemetery. From there you can take a short walk up to the Walker Sister homestead. They were the last living settlers in ...  more »
  • This is an easy hike, combined by the Walker Sisters trail. Only about 4.5 mile hike and easy for young kids.  more »

  • This is an interesting building, and it's super accessible. If you're up for a small hike, it's also the trailhead to the Walker Sisters cabin (1.1 miles away on a (mostly) gravel trail).
  • The park has taken good care of the school house. There's not much to see but there are trails to get there from the picnic area, or you can just drive up there and park.
  • Visit on Tuesdays, a volunteer staffs the school on those days who is very knowledgeable and entertaining.
