  • Great hike-not too far from Sugarlands Visitor Center. You start the trail by walking the AT. In my opinion it wasn’t clearly marked, but I read a book that helped me along the way. The hike is pretty...  more »
  • I’ve already hiked Mt. LeCont, so I thought I could start checking off a few more hike boxes on the Appalachian Trail. Charlie’s Bunion is a little challenging, but the views from the top are absolute...  more »
  • ....as far as safety concerns at the end, 'warnings' shouldn't have to be posted...you are hiking in the mountains on a primitive trail, common sense should be in use...there are no hand rails, just a...  more »

  • A great hike along the ridge of the Tennessee -North Carolina border. Ups and downs, though not too strenous. The final actual rock outcrop can cause a bit of vertigo since there are no railings at this location.
  • Great hike with breathtaking views even when the storm clouds are covering a lot of the valley.
  • That's one heck of a trial, surprise's the enthusiastics. The view is lil fogged up due to climate. Check the climate before you go. Carry poncho's , they might help you if it rains. Got to see some wildlife. We hiked in rain through the creeks tumbling on the Rocky slopes. You wouldn't feel the elevation gain as it says. Carry lots of water unless u wanna try the fresh brown water flowing through most of the area's. As we interacted with the fellow campers, they said it was one of their life experiences to camp there. It's a solid 8 hr hike. Be prepared. Enjoy the nature when its at best. Couldn't wait to the see them in the winter. I am guessing it would be a topped with a blanket of snow on the mountains during winter.
  • Well worth the hike, approx 3.5 hours return if you stay at the lookout for any length of time. Great views at lookout. Make sure you wear proper trekking shoes, we saw a heap of under prepared tourists attempting this trail in sandals and ballet flats!
  • Beautiful view!
