  • A beautiful, slow drive in the Smokie Mtns close to Pidgeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN. Saw deer and elk and great scenery...rivers and waterfalls. 
  • Go in the spring and fall. With traffic takes about 2 hours. Lots of bears. Plenty of old educational cabins. Pretty bleak in the winter. Take the Rich Mountain cutoff for lots of views.
