  • We hit this trail at about 8:30 am. We were the first people out for the day. The trail goes through a burn area from the fall of 2016. Seeing the 'regrowth ' was very interesting. The last half mile ...  more »
  • Much of this trail winds thru hills that were burned in the fire of 2016 making this a beautiful, yet surreal hike. New greenery is pushing its way up thru the ashes and wildlife is returning to the a...  more »
  • We took our 3 year old on this hike. It is more on the strenuous side with the elevation changes but it was worth it in the end. The last little bit was alittle tricky but nothing too bad. Good waterf...  more »

  • Parking is very bad. There are two trails that lead to the falls. You have to watch for signs really closely, because Google navigation will overshoot you about half mile past second starting point. Second trail is about 3 miles long round trip. It somewhat challenging for a first time hiker like me the sight of the falls makes it all worth it though.
  • When I was looking up waterfall trails to hike, I wanted easy to moderate. Nothing too risky and steep. Well, Google said this was an easy trek. Yeah, maybe to those that enter marathons yearly or rock climb, but I'm just the average person. It's downhill mostly all the way to it and a steep return back. For those that are not in good shape, this isn't the best trail to start with. Grotto Falls was easy.
  • My wife and I hate this Trail to the falls on our recent vacation to the Smokies. This was our favorite trail that we hiked and it was beautiful because there was a lot less people on it and the scenery was awesome. The terrain gets a little steep when you get down towards the falls and it's all downhill to the falls so you have to call back up hill to get back. But it's well worth it. There is a trail along the way that goes up to an old Cemetery from the early nineteen hundreds that is beautiful too but again it's all uphill to get there we were glad we stopped though.
  • Great hike! Took our group of 9 (4 under 5) around 4 hours.
  • Pretty secluded, I didn't see anyone else the entire time and it's easy to get to, BUT the hike back out can be pretty steep. Parking is also difficult if you choose a popular day for this hike. With that said, these are some nice falls. Not huge or spectacular, but very nice.
