  • This is a great place to go for a short hike, bird watch, swim in the bay, kayak, or just enjoy the peace of being on an island in the Bay. Hawks and owls for the kids.

  • Aka....CBEC "See-beck" a great learning experience for both kids and adults. They offer great summer camps as well, which are great for getting the kids back in the learning spirit the week before school starts.
  • This is a private not for profit center dedicated to birding in the Chesapeake Bay The grounds are well maintained and they have some lovely birds that can no longer be released two red tail hawks, three barred owls, and two great horned owls. The local boy scout troops have donated a ton of labour to build great blinds for bird watching, and other facilities. It has a very easy and comfortable loop trail of about 1 mile.
  • Love this place and it serves as wonderful opportunity to learn in your backyard. As for the trapping goes, CBEC has a problem with diseased fox, if they do not trap the ones that are sick they will not have any foxes on the property in the first place. just a little insight from someone who knows why they are doing the trapping.
  • Very cool. Friendly staff. They have 3 types of owls you can check out in big enclosures. Pretty cool.
  • What an amazing hidden gem. Whatever your pleasure you will find it here at Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC). From educational programs to birding, hiking to canoeing to amazing photo opportunities...it is all here!
