  • Beautiful Park, very peaceful! We enjoy our day trips here..... beautiful in the Winter too. We try to go up each season.
  • We’ve come here two years in a row to go cross country skiing and have a great time when we come. Complete rentals are $15 for 2 hours $25 for a full day and 40 for two days. We’ve always rented for two hours, played hard and then we’re ready to be done. Rangers are very helpful and rentals are in good shape. They also rent snowshoes. This is a great place for families and those new to cross country skiing. There are several maintained trails of varying lengths and difficulty. The lodge has tables if you want to bring a lunch. You can also buy food from a small café. They have a large open fire pit going in the lodge and I keep meaning to bring hot dogs to see if they will let me roast them. Go to The Cornucopia Café (a short drive) if you’re looking for some delicious food after your adventure.
  • A great place for a getaway.
  • Wow ..What a great get-away!! 2 hours out of Mt Airy where my relatives live and we arrived in New Germany State Park on the Friday before Father's Day. Clean, Modest, rural 1930's CCC cabin #11 with large living room, dining area and kitchen. Bath on first floor. 3 rooms upstairs, Single beds and cots were comfortable with our own sheets/pillows.All cleaned and ready for our arrival. Watched the fog rise off the mountains, HUGE fish swimming in the pond;3ft Tiger Musky, plenty of bass, crayfish. We swam in clean water on a nice little beach with friendly life guards. The park offered paddle /rowboats/Kayaks to rent if you wish. Went for a great nature walk after the rain with Andrea, the park Naturalist. We got lucky with some great nights and crisp mornings. Park was labeled as, The Best Kept Secret ..I would say that but, there would be too many people when I returned. It was like renting a state park for your family. I could go and on about shaded areas, park benches with charcoal grills, Snack Bar,history of the park and the gift shop. We normally go to Pennsylvania State Parks and New Germany State Park was super nice!!!
