  • This was not in the plans for our little weekend away we wanted to check out some of the other museums GR has to offer but our kids begged and pleaded. Always amazes me how they never get board no mat...  more »
  • The GRCM is a great place to take children to experience new things, to act out roles, and have a great time with other children.  more »
  • It's an ok children's museum for an hour or two. Our kids are probably too old for it now. They got bored pretty quick. Not really worth going after age 6.  more »

  • We had a terrific first visit this past weekend. I was very impressed with the activities they had for children to learn and explore. This definitely had a wow factor for us and we will certainly be going back soon. The employees were all very helpful and friendly too. I recommend packing your own drinks and snacks.
  • I don't love the pricing, so we don't go very often. However, the children's museum is something every child in grand rapids should experience at least once! There is so much to do and all of the play is focused on learning.
  • I've taken both of my boys here numerous times during their young lives. They have always found ways to be engaged and play. I don't know what people are expecting from a children's museum, but it's obvious that some reviewers here who complain that it's not "Educational" enough don't understand that children learn best when they are actively engaged in play both with adults and with their peers. I would agree that it is a bit expensive with multiple children for what amounts to a 1-2 hour visit. My only other complaint would be that after the age of 7 or 8, most of the exhibits really begin to lose their appeal. This museum is definitely geared toward the preschool/kindergarten crowd
  • Our kids are starting to age out, but it's a fantastic place for children under, say, 9. Children with sensory issues or sensitivity to loud noises or crowds should visit when the place is relatively empty. It can get really loud and overwhelming, even for adults!
  • Took my 5 and 7 year old there for the first time and they loved it! Easy to find. Parking was a challenge. We parked in a lot that was close and it was rather expensive. Its $8.50 entrance fee for each person to get into the museum. Staff was friendly. Place was clean. 2 stories of things your kids wont be able to stop playing with. We look forward to going back again.
