  • The GR Art Museum is a worthwhile place for an hour or so. It's located downtown near lots of parking garages and lots. It has a lot of well known artists less known pieces and regularly features chan...  more »
  • The art here is always changing. Never a dull moment when you visit here. The museum is very open and bright. Elevator or stairs to upper floors.
  • A favorite venue for annual Art Prize Celebration in Sept-Oct. Exhibitions are unique and interesting. Even gift shop is great!

  • So glad to have this place in our town. Great artwork in a great space. The building alone is inspiring. They have great summer events featuring bands, food trucks, and activities for the kids. This is what helps make GR so fun to live in.
  • I really appreciate the work the museum does with the community. They have a room for creating art and offer a lot to schools. The museum itself is pretty meh. It seems rather stark and much of the art is hard to appreciate without more explanation.
  • It was best said by a previous user rating. "I'll give a generous two stars to this sparsely stocked art museum only because I enjoyed the local Michigan artist exhibit. Seriously, as we walked around we wondered when we were gonna get to the art only to realize that the few pictures scattered around the wall is what we paid $8 per person to see. The building is pretty large and were shocked to see how little art there was here! Maybe I'm spoiled from the Detroit Institute of Arts because it's LOADED with various forms of art that takes hours to enjoy and is free to residents of the tri-county area so to pay so much for so little was disappointing. I had to convince myself that I was helping local artists to justify the money. We checked out everything here i about an hour. We won't go back!"
  • Tons of fun to go and walk around. Thursday after 5pm its free. Definitely worth the time/parking hassle.
  • New galleries, exhibitions, and general art on a regular basis. The venue features acclaimed work and beautiful spaces for engaging it.
