  • Beautiful place. Gardens are exceptional, the areas are clean, the service by employees is great. A good place for pictures, family walk and even dates. We saw a pair of newly weds taking their wedding pictures here. It also makes a great place for the reception on their private rooms. The Japanese garden is a must see as well as the tropical and dessert areas. During the summer they do a great concert series in the park stage.
  • I had my first date with my husband here. I love this place. There's always something beautiful to see here. A large nature sanctuary including both indoor and outdoor gardens, and artwork. Wide paved paths are well maintained and kept clear, even in winter. There are live concerts held here as well.
  • A great place to take the family. During the holidays you can go and see the different Christmas trees from all over the world. You can go outside and see the other things in the park, but it is cold during the holidays. I went during the summer as well and some of the gardens and sculptures are really interesting. I did enjoy both of my visits.
  • This place was amazing. We were in the area and had a free morning. We intended to go for an hour, stayed over 4 and still didn't get to see it all. We will definitely come back the next time we are in the area. It was just beautiful and there was so much to see. The sculptures are amazing and the landscaping was just beautiful. The variety of plant life felt endless. I also want to say, we met a volunteer there that was tremendously knowledgeable and friendly and full of information and suggestions and one of the most helpful people I've EVER met. He made the whole complex feel warm and inviting and encouraged us to explore. He was awesome. As were all the volunteers we met there. They have something for all ages and interests. Highly recommend this place.
  • I've been to Meijer gardens multiple times. It's a delight each time! Right now they have their "Christmas Around the World" exhibit. It's worth the trip just to see famous Grand Rapids buildings constructed as miniature displays. The displays are made entirely out of natural materials (leaves, twigs, etc.). The admission is reasonable but the member pass is the way to go. We plan on walking the park's trails in the spring & summer now that we have a membership.

Where to stay in Grand Rapids

Only five hotels provide lodging downtown, but each charms its guests with a distinctive character. A small collection of bed and breakfasts and inns populate Old Town. These hotels are a five-minute walk from the city's main attractions, top restaurants, and conference centers, so they tend to fill up fast. Book a room early to ensure you get the lodging of your choice. There are also hotel chains near the airport and in residential areas; public transport and taxi service link these to the city's downtown.
