Providence Metropark is a regional park located near Grand Rapids, Ohio that is part of the Toledo Metroparks. The park contains mule-drawn canal boat rides on the Miami and Erie Canal and features canal lock 44, the only original functioning lock in the state of Ohio. The park also contains the Isaac Ludwig Mill which was built in 1866 over a two-year period. The mill was originally a sawmill powered by a water wheel, then later was converted to a grist mill in the 1880s driven by water turbines. Today, it functions as a living museum. The park is connected by a walking trail to Bend View Metropark and Farnsworth Metropark.

  • Beautiful trails with plenty to do. Spring through the fall you have the park people dress in period clothes to operate the canal boat, which you can ride, and the old saw mill. A must visit for anyone.
  • Excellent place to go kayaking enjoy the birds and the scenery. My family and I go there it's very relaxing way to making memories and is always fun to visit Providence on the water.
  • We were there when the water was high. I'm sure it is beautiful when it's not.
  • Paved walking trails and cool historical placards. Didn't manage to see all the park had to offer but I enjoyed what I did. Nice views of the river. Plenty of people enjoying the water either playing in the pools or fishing
  • I love the old ferry, nice place to launch kayaks.
