  • Sat in the Silks section. Had the ala carte menu, not the buffet. Food was good and reasonably priced. Very good food service. In the Silks, bets are taken at the table. Good view of the track and a m...  more »
  • Visit Lone Star Park is always a great experience for everybody. If you don't like to bet, just the opportunity to go a an event for the music counts... One thing I like about it is the free parking.....  more »
  • We live in Dallas but hadn't been to the race track in over 10 years so we decided to check it out this past weekend since the season is ending next weekend. My main complaint would be there isn't any...  more »

  • This is a wonderful place to get your horse racing and gambling fix in Texas. Entry price is pretty cheap, and betting prices are very easy to handle and get experience in without losing your rear end. The staff and personnel are fairly nice and the grounds stay relatively clean given the atmosphere. Beers are not too pricey, food is typically fast food and fair type stuff. Very diverse crowd, from blue collar workers, to couples, families, young professionals, gambling enthusiasts, empty nesters and businessmen. Everything from lower working class all the way up to upper class suite holders. Horses are always the stars of the show, beautiful creatures that steal your heart and make for wonderful scenery to watch. Really is a must trip whenever you are in the Dallas area, and a great plan for couples nights, group parties and newbies looking to experience horse racing.
  • WE WENT FOR THE RANDY ROGERS CONCERT AND REALLY ENJOYED THE CONCERT. IF THEY WERE TO HAVE HIM AGAIN WE WOULD ATTEND AND IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH PAYING FOR THE VIP PIT PASSES. THERE WERE HOWEVER A COUPLE OF ISSUES NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONCERT THAT WOULD KEEP US FROM RETURNING FOR THE RACES ALONE. #1 ALMOST EVERYTHING IS CASH ONLY - THIS IS NOT NECESSARILY AN ISSUE IF WE HAD KNOWN AHEAD OF TIME. I JUST DON'T PARTICULARLY LIKE PAYING FOR ATM FEES. #2 WE CAME IN THE GATE WHERE THE VALET PARKING WAS AVAILABLE (FANTASTIC AND WORTH PAYING FOR). OUR FIRST PRIORITY WAS EATING AND HAD INTENDED ON EATING AT THE BAR & BOOK. WE APPROACHED A LADY SITTING BEHIND A PODIUM IN FRONT OF THE ESCALATORS AND TOLD HER THIS WAS OUR FIRST VISIT AND WE WERE LOOKING FOR THE BAR & BOOK. SHE SAID IT WAS UPSTAIRS BUT A $3 ENTRANCE FEE APPLIED TO GO UP. I THOUGHT IT WAS STUPID THAT I PAID $50 FOR A TICKET AND HAD TO PAY ANOTHER $3 JUST TO GET INTO A RESTAURANT BUT WE PAID IT AND WENT UPSTAIRS. AFTER BEING SENT IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE WE FINALLY ARRIVED AT A HOSTESS STAND WHERE THEY SEEMED VERY CONFUSED WHERE TO SEAT US. WE WERE FINALLY SAT AT TABLE 139 WHICH LEADS ME TO THE NEXT ISSUE..... #3 THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED ANYWHERE. WE WERE INSTANTLY GREETED BY A MAN NAMED CARL WHO SAID HE COULD HELP US PLACE BETS. WE WERE NOT PLANNING ON MAKING ANY BUT THANKED HIM AND HE SAID OUR SERVER WOULD BE WITH US SHORTLY. WE WAITED-----NO MENUS NO SERVER. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINS OF WAITING I GOT UP AND WALKED DOWN TO A DRINK STATION WHERE A SERVER AND BUSSER WERE CHATTING. I ASKED THEM IF THEY KNEW WHO OUR SERVER WAS. THE SERVER SAID THAT HE WOULD BE HAPPY TO TAKE OUR DRINK ORDER AND GO FIND OUR SERVER. WE JUST ASKED IF HE WOULD GET US A MENU. ONCE WE RECEIVED THE MENUS IT BECAME VERY CLEAR THAT WE WERE NOT AT BAR & BOOK LIKE WE HAD ASKED THE LADY DOWNSTAIRS FOR DIRECTIONS TO. SO WE PAID A $3 ENTRANCE FEE TO SIT IN A RESTAURANT WE DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO EAT AT. WITH MY BOYFRIEND BEING ON CRUTCHES AND US BOTH JUST WANTING TO RELAX A LITTLE WE DECIDED TO NOT WANDER OUT AND ATTEMPT TO FIND THE BAR & BOOK. THEN WE FINALLY MET OUR SERVER AND IT JUST GOT WORSE. WE HAD TO REPEAT A SIMPLE DRINK ORDER (ONE BEER ONE WATER) TWICE. WHEN THE FOOD CAME OUT ( 2 BURGERS ONE WITH FRIES ONE WITH ONION RINGS) WE WERE NOT IMPRESSED---AT ALL. THE FRIES WERE ICE COLD AND THE BURGERS WERE MEDIOCRE AT BEST. ONION RINGS WERE YUMMY THOUGH. A SECOND BASKET OF FRIES WAS BROUGHT OUT BUT THEY WERE SOGGY. AT THIS POINT WE JUST WANTED TO GET OUT OF THE SO CALLED "RESTAURANT." OUR SERVER WAS GENERALLY UNAVAILABLE AND NOTICED HE WOULD DISAPPEAR INTO THE BACK FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. WE WOULD HAVE STAYED AND DRANK MORE BUT WE SAT WITH EMPTY BEERS TOO LONG TO BOTHER. ONCE WE WENT DOWNSTAIRS AND STARTED WALKING AROUND THINGS IMPROVED. BATHROOM LINES WERE SHORT AND MOVED FAST. AND THEY WERE GENERALLY CLEAN. THE GIRLS WORKING THE BEER CARTS WERE NICE AND QUICK. WE WERE GIVEN DIRECTIONS TO THE TABLE TO CLAIM OUR WRIST BANDS FOR THE VIP PIT AND THAT WENT SMOOTHLY. WE HAD PLANNED ON ATTENDING THE DOLLAR DAY WITH OUR KIDS THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND BUT I DON'T THINK WE WILL. THE CONCERT WAS REALLY THE ONLY REDEEMING FACTOR OF THE NIGHT. SO UNLESS ANOTHER BAND WE ARE REALLY INTERESTED IN SEEING PLAYS I DOUBT WE WILL BE BACK.
  • Had fun on today which is Father's Day!! It's a new experience for me,cause it's my first time out here or even betting! It hot but expect to meet different people and learn how the races work!! 😁
  • The races are fun to watch, especially after one views the next race's horses at the paddock, then selects their "winner or placer". Even a small wager will likely cause you to cheer on your horse and rider. The extra activities between races means there's usually something happening on the track. Only negative is the inadequate general admission seating and it lack of shade from Texas sun and heat off the reflective white concrete. I say raise the GA price a couple bucks and use the revenue to cover the hot concrete and add seating.
  • Fun place to go and watch a horse! Great clean facility and the staff is courteous. Food could be a little better, but still good.
