  • This museum, housed in a huge plot of land, was born in the year 1967 having as a reference the pioneers of American Prairie and their activities, including the necessary reference to native Americans. After you log on to let in what in fact looks like a visitor center or that could be called a hosting facility where you can buy the ticket for visiting ($ 8) and poke around in the small but inevitable gift store. The land where the Museum is lined and features a small lake and the museum itself you visit within structures that contain articles in the daily lives of the Cowboys, including tools, furniture, saddles, ecc.ecc. In addition to some external locations as a church, a train station, a sizeable Native American habitation. All in all an interesting Museum, especially (this is not my case) If you haven't already seen similar museums elsewhere in the United States.

  • We stopped here while looking for a place to view the solar eclipse. We did not view it from there (we heard they had quite a crowd). We where their a little early so the main building was not open. W...  more »
  • This museum made me think I was in church as when you walk in you are faced with two ascending staircases and every thing is white. The floor is white tile and the walls are white. At the top of the s...  more »

  • The museum was everything that the brochure said it was. The old time Town had citizens dressed in Period dress and they knew their history and all the tasks that they were to perform according to the building that they hosted. One lady makes her own hats and it was so incredible to watch her do this. The blacksmith was a lot of fun and the tin maker will make you a cookie cutter if you just tell him what you want. We very much enjoyed our visit.
  • A beautiful place to spend the day. It was so much fun, and the price for.both entry and product was fair. Bring your walking shoes and appetite. The little store offers ice cream, sandwiches and beverages. It's.like you are having lunch in the 1800's. We were able to bring our dog....just keep them on a leash and bring poop bags to clean up after them. Those folks who were dressed in time wardrobe, did a great job with history and questions. An all around fun day. You wind be disappointed. Enjoy.
  • Had a wonderful time. Visiting the special little town brings back memories.. people are nice and the weather was perfect.. Enjoyed the pictures Todd painted. Oh, great ice cream too. 😉😍
  • The main building was super clean and it was very easy to see all of the exhibits. Each exhibit had a short and easy to read description. Railroad town was our favorite though. The blacksmith served in the military, as do my husband and I, and he told us the tale of the horseshoe and the reason why it's lucky, then he made two and gave them to us. The whole place is beautiful and educational, and the staff is very sweet.
  • This museum is terrific for anyone, but especially children . It is a great way to give them a real historical experience of life in the olden days. It is very well kept up and beautifully maintained. I highly recommend it for travelers as well as the general public to experience over and over again.
