  • Toroweap has been on my must see list. I booked a tour with Dreamland Safari Tours as my compact rental car wouldn't make the drive. The view is amazing. So glad I was able to experience this!  more »
  • Everyone's raving about Toroweap is true. There are many precautions you should take: 1. 4WD vehicle with high clearance. 2. E rating 10-ply rating tires, most rental places won't have these, and the ...  more »
  • I think that this is you best view that there are the Grand Canyon, the height that there is over the river is impressive. I have not found any point of view on both sides that the river can be seen and have that verticality. In others points you can see the River, but not are so high or are more away from the river. There is possibility of zoom to the edge, but I caused much respect, the wind, the height, the rocks dan much printing. I preferred to see the River on all sides and it is very impressive. I advise to take binoculars to realize vertical and well see the river. In my case not realized at a glance which had a few boats in the river making rafting up to not see them with the prismatic. It is a very lonely place and perhaps this also makes it very special, we have 5 couples during the 3 hours we were. Is possible to camp with a permit. Talking to these people they said that night is perfect for stargazing and no wonder without any artificial light in kilometers. On the other hand, there are some drawbacks on this point. The first is that many views as opposed to other points, there is though the one is the best. Another problem is access. It is a road of about 100 Km from Earth in very good condition until the last kilometers. The ideal is to be able to go on a 4 x 4 with certain height for the last 3 Km, I went with one of them and have not had problems. I can say that with an SUV or a car you can reach about 2, 5 KM before the edge and do the rest on foot. It took me an hour and a half to get from the road.
