North Rim Visitor Center, Grand Canyon National Park

Must see · Canyon · Nature / Park
Part of one of the world's Seven Natural Wonders, North Rim Visitor Center provides an inspiring and remarkable landscape without the massive crowds of the South Rim. Begin your trip at the visitor center, where you can pick up maps and brochures, talk to a ranger, and view exhibits about the canyon. One of the best ways to experience all that the North Rim has to offer is a hike through its wild and breathtaking scenery. If you'd rather not get that much exercise, cruise the scenic drive. Temperatures here are generally lower than the South Rim due to its greater elevation, so bring a sweater. North Rim guided mule treks are easier to book than South Rim mule trips, which generally must be booked 13 months in advance. • Our second visit to the Grand Canyon, the first time we used the West Rim access. This is so much better than that "disneyland" commercial experience. The accessibility to the vistas was fantastic.....  more »
  • I think this side is best. My most favorite highlight of all of the Grand Canyon sites north south east west was a spot here where your looking through an arch and see the river that caused it all.  more »
  • I’ve always wanted to see the Grand Canyon, and meeting my girlfriend in Page, AZ for Thanksgiving this year allowed me the opportunity to finally do so! As the east entrance remains closed due to...  more »
  • I've never been to the South Rim, so I can't offer a comparison. My family and I headed to the North Rim for a quick weekend trip and had a great time there. We spent some time exploring the gift shop and lodge. But best of all, the view of the canyon from the back patio of the lodge is stunning and so peaceful. There were plenty of places to sit back and absorb the beauty, which we did. There are also several little trails and viewpoints to walk out to. Obviously the canyon itself is amazing. And the pizza at the deli was delicious!
  • Great customer service. Didn't have a great selection of magnets that I liked but did have many magnets. A little pricey but that was expected. Still worthwhile.
  • The North rim grand canyon is an awesome place to visit but the visitor center is pretty lame compared to other national parks.... Most of the other national parks we've been to have a much better selection of fun mementos that are applicable to the park..... Here they didn't even have a grand canyon patch really that's crazy....
  • the north rim is much less visited, which allows for a richer experience. if you are afraid of heights there are still many vistas that can be enjoyed without the scary edges. I do suggest trying at least one hike in the area to experience the true feel of the canyon.
  • Beautiful spot to enjoy the wonder of the grand canyon. They even had a wheelchair for me to use which was so nice since I had left mine home this trip. And the walkways around the area were clean and well maintained.
