North Kaibab Trail, Grand Canyon National Park

Categories: Hiking Trails, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web
Explore the North Rim of the Grand Canyon on a hike along North Kaibab Trail. The difficulty of this 14 km (8.7 mi) trek depends on how far you want to push yourself. For a shorter version, head in as far as the first attraction, a set of tunnels just 1.7 km (1 mi) from the start. There you can explore, take a break, and return by a mule ride. Farther along, the trail rises steadily higher, rewarding you with views of springs and waterfalls as you climb. Be sure to stay hydrated on this challenging hike; it can be extremely hot. Other hazards such as flash floods and encounters with wildlife are rare, but possible, so be prepared. You can camp along the way (only with a permit) at sites located 6.9 km (4.3 mi) and 13.8 km (8.6 mi) in. • A long hike with a very steep descent into the Grand Canyon. We did it in two days, staying at Cottonwood Campground along the way. Exceptional scenery. reservations are necessary at the campground.
  • It is advisable to carry water by the heat that makes. It is best to start the tour pretty soon, so, when you burn the Sun, are already very advanced. The views are incredible and worth making this excursion.

  • Tour points on car does not mean to experience Canyon. Definitely need to try this trail and descend. Note about the temperature difference at the top and bottom (prepare clothes). I would not say that the trail is complicated, but because of the duration of supportive footwear. Still be sure to bring plenty of water. And do not rush, enjoy a moment of true conqueror of the Grand Canyon!
