Mohave Point, Grand Canyon National Park

Located on Grand Canyon's South Rim, Mohave Point offers beautiful panoramas of terraced cliffs that encircle the Abyss, sandstone plateaus, and meandering Colorado River. One of nine lookout points along the rim, ideal for watching sunset and sunrise, this spot actually consists of several individual overlooks and is never crowded. If you look directly below the point, you'll see a red sandstone mesa with jagged edges resembling alligator's horny scales. The site is accessible from scenic Hermit Road by foot, bicycle, and free shuttle bus. • Temperature least 6 end January expected the Sunrise with the feet in the snow we're only the car is parked next to this point of view is extra. We see far, deep, we hear even colorado... our favorite! But hey, it's true that a lot of other car parks are also very good. Everything is beautiful at the grand canyon.

  • Breathtaking views. Even in single digit wind chill and 40mph wind. We didn't want to leave!
  • Another very popular, and sometimes crowded, view point. Majestic. Much better and more beautiful than we've ever imagined. Just one personal comment: if/when you see pics, videos, movies don't forget that the actual colors widely vary depending on the time of the day, the weather conditions, and the season you visit. Conclusion: when you actually visit leave plenty of time to enjoy and you'll be very pleasantly surprised. Should be on the bucket list.
  • Nice place to visit at west rim near hermits rest place
  • Views of the canyon that go on for ever. Watch as clouds float by changing the colors of the landscape.
  • Must see at sunrise or sunset, view from both sides of the point, if it is still, you can hear the water!!
