Mohave Point, Grand Canyon National Park

Located on Grand Canyon's South Rim, Mohave Point offers beautiful panoramas of terraced cliffs that encircle the Abyss, sandstone plateaus, and meandering Colorado River. One of nine lookout points along the rim, ideal for watching sunset and sunrise, this spot actually consists of several individual overlooks and is never crowded. If you look directly below the point, you'll see a red sandstone mesa with jagged edges resembling alligator's horny scales. The site is accessible from scenic Hermit Road by foot, bicycle, and free shuttle bus. • In addition to the Pima Point, also the Mohave Point offers exceptional views of the Colorado River far down in the Canyon. As the Mohave Point is quite large and offers many seating areas and views positions. He is in our top 5 of the South Rim NP.

  • Mohave point, ate a snack. The rest of the climb in thin Mitsui in the Mojave points table reports the bus over there just to eat. Here is outrageous. Put a snack on the table sitting in a Chair watching the scenery and eating honey, you can have the same experience. If a person is writing because there is only one table is hard to use ~

  • For me, this was one of the better photo opportunities within the park. There is a great spot to rest or eat a bite and an elevated rock ledge allows for some perspective shots not available at other ...  more »

  • Another very popular, and sometimes crowded, view point. Majestic. Much better and more beautiful than we've ever imagined. Just one personal comment: if/when you see pics, videos, movies don't forget that the actual colors widely vary depending on the time of the day, the weather conditions, and the season you visit. Conclusion: when you actually visit leave plenty of time to enjoy and you'll be very pleasantly surprised. Should be on the bucket list.
  • One of many spectacular viewing points along the south rim. Spring time in the canyon is beautiful.
  • Incredible views, especially at sunset.
  • 2 angles of the same beautiful view
  • Great view point!

Where to stay in Grand Canyon National Park

You'll find plenty of options if you want to stay inside Grand Canyon National Park. Most campgrounds and lodges sit around the South Rim area, and they tend to fill up quickly for summer visits, so book as far in advance as possible. The price range for lodge accommodations varies greatly, so there's something for nearly every budget. The less-visited North Rim features one lodge. For those who hike to the bottom of the canyon, dormitories and cabins are available at Phantom Ranch. If you can't secure a place in the park or find something there to your liking, the small village near the south entrance offers inns and economy motels. You’ll have the convenience of nearby restaurants if you stay there.
