Lipan Point, Grand Canyon National Park
Categories: Lookouts, Tourist Spots
Check out the sights from one of the Grand Canyon's best viewpoints, Lipan Point. Located on the South Rim, the spot affords magnificent views of the Unkar Creek area in the inner canyon. Take binoculars and try to spot rafters on the river. The vantage point also serves as a trailhead for a long and fairly easy hike popular with tourists. Always exercise caution when entering the canyon due to dangerous weather and wildlife. Lipon Point is just past Navajo Point and also provides good views of the Canyon in all directions.Parking is limiyed but it provides great views.
The view here never gets old. This year on my birthday I witnessed the most incredible lightning storm and got some of the best photos of my life. This was the icing on the cake for what has been an amazing two week vacation in Arizona.
Beautiful spot. Great view of Grand Canyon. However, concerned for young children under 18 years of age. Saw a few going to edge of canyon. Others walking on rock formations beyond barrier's. Parents just watching them. Crazy. A woman fell off the cliff the previous week. And these kids tempting fate. I'm giving it 5 Stars ONLY for the beauty. They really need a ranger or someone in authority present in these view areas.
Some of the most beautiful views of the Grand Canyon. Go just before sunset and bring a good camera. You won't be disappointed.
Great place to get an overview of the Grand Canyon and watch the sunset. It can be quite windy but it's worth a stop when your entering or leaving from the east entrance.
Loved coming out here to check the place out. If your in the area definitely stop by and see what you think. Some amazing views of the landscape and not overly populated which makes things quite nice. Pretty decent trails but make sure you bring some water.
